Fundraiser collects items worth RM2,000 for Zero Strays Miri

MIRI: Zero Strays Miri has recently received RM2,000 worth of items donated through a fundraising project organised by Kolej Tun Datu Tuanku Haji Bujang (KTDTHJB) Leo Club.

The project had Lions Club of Miri working with Leo Clubs from KTDTHJB, SMK St Columba and Curtin University of Malaysia Sarawak Campus, to raise funds in conjunction with the International Leo Service Day.

“We (Leo Club of Kolej TDTHJ) organised the fundraising project in conjunction with International Leo Service Day and decided that Zero Strays Miri will be the recipient,” said organising chairperson Arianna Benedict from KTDTHJB Leo Club.

The items were handed over to Zero Strays Miri vice president Stella Chin Li Yee at Be ie Veterinary Clinic & Surgery Miri.

Donated items include dog and cat food, rice, floor cleaners, bleach and mosquito repellent.

“We are grateful for the donations received from Lions, Leos and individuals through this project.

“We thank everyone for their generosity,” added Arianna.

Present during the handing over were Curtin University Malaysia’s Leo Club advisor Dato Sri Wong Yew Hui, KTDTHB Leo Club advisor Diana Yeoh Ban Kheng and SMK St Columba Leo Club advisor Susie Lau Hie Hee as well as KTDTHB faculty advisors Chieng Hui Ying, Joyce Ling Shin Ying and Loui Kee Hie.
