SIBU: Meradong stamped its mark at the Sarawak Under14 and Under-16 Volleyball Championships 2022 here last night, when they made a clean sweep of the Girls U14 and U16 titles.

Mukah and Miri were second and third respectively for the Girls U14, while Miri was second place and Mukah clung on to third spot in Girls U16.

For Boys U14, Miri emerged champion followed by Sarikei and Limbang respectively.

Mukah was Boys U16 champion while Limbang and Miri had to be contended with second and third spot respectively.

The tournament was held at Sibu Volleyball Indoor Stadium from Dec 1 till 4.

Sibu Volleyball Association president Dr William Ting officiated at the closing ceremony which also a ended by its chairman Dato Moh Wung Ming.

Meanwhile, a total of 48 players have been selected to represent Sarawak at the national tournaments.

Half of them will take part in the 20th Malaysia Youth U14 Volleyball Championships from Dec 13 to 16.

The other 24 will compete in Malaysia Youth U16 Volleyball Championships from Dec 27 to 30.
