PM undergoes health check-up at IJN

KUALA LUMPUR: Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim said that he underwent a health check-up at the National Heart Institute (IJN) here yesterday morning.

He said the doctor confirmed that his health was in good condition.

“I immediately resumed my duties with the staff,” he said in a Facebook post.

Earlier, Human Resources Minister V. Sivakumar was reported to have said that Anwar was initially scheduled to a end the Thaipusam celebrations in Batu Caves yesterday morning, but was unable to because he was unwell.

Meanwhile, Anwar in a Facebook post wished Hindus in Malaysia a Happy Thaipusam.

He said the various celebrations and diverse culture in Malaysia are strong grounds for the Malaysian community to get to know each other and build an understanding of the country’s plural society.

“Let us together strengthen unity and harmony for the sake of our beloved nation,” he said in the post.
