UCMI, KRU Masterclass sign MoA to help students navigate digital era

KUALA LUMPUR: The University College MAIWP International (UCMI) is strengthening its collaboration with KRU Masterclass to give added value to students in navigating the digital era.

Its vice-chancellor Prof Dr Wan Mohd Azizi Wan Sulaiman said this collaboration represents UCMI’s commitment to providing students and the needy with digital knowledge and interpersonal skills in line with current development.

“The Malaysia Madani concept emphasises developing a civilised society such as our students who come from the B40 group, asnaf (eligible tithe recipients) and Baitulmal recipients.

“The Federal Territory Islamic Religious Council (MAIWP) ecosystem via UCMI is able to provide an added value which is translated into certification through collaborative programmes with KRU Masterclass that will help more students,” he said in a statement.

A memorandum of agreement (MoA) between the two parties was signed last Thursday. Wan Mohd Azizi signed on behalf of UCMI, while KRU Masterclass was represented by its president and chief executive officer Datuk Norman Abdul Halim.

Wan Mohd Azizi said the MoA includes offering industrial training to UCMI students who meet the conditions and scope of work offered, especially programmes at the Faculty of Management, Education and Humanities.

In the same statement, Norman said the programme is not only about knowledge sharing but could generate revenue with UCMI from the use of premises to conduct training.

“This collaboration will give new life to the programmes involved and have a big impact on graduates in meeting the needs of the labour market in various industries as well as other groups,” he said.
