APM: Floodwaters recede in most affected areas in Subis

MIRI: The flood situation in several areas in Subis district improved significantly yesterday morning.

Miri Civil Defence Force (APM) officer Frankie John Jawan said monitoring at flood-prone areas following overnight heavy rain last Friday found that the floodwaters in most of the affected areas had receded.

The affected areas included SK Rumah Mentali Saeh Merah Niah, SK Rh Undi Sg Saeh Putih Niah, Rh Jelani Mangbang Sg Kapat Saeh Putih Niah, Rh Richard Pilet Sg Kapat Saeh Putih Niah, Rh Edward Aznan Lubuk Menuang Sg Saeh Putih Niah, Rh Nelson Ningkan Kumbang Saeh Putih Niah, Rh Ayai Sawing Saeh Putih Niah and Saeh Niah Road.

“Monitoring operation carried out by APM members from 7.30am to 11am today found that the flood situation in these areas had significantly improved, with most of the floodwaters fully receded despite the cloudy weather,” he said.

He said no evacuation had been carried out and no temporary evacuation centre had been activated as the flood situation was reported to be still under control.

“The Saeh road is also still accessible to all types of vehicles,” he added.
