MIRI: A 34-year-old man, who broke the window of a van belonging to another man, was fined RM1,500 in default one month in jail by the Magistrates’ Court here yesterday.

Senior Assistant Registrar Randu Rangen convicted Sukanri Borhan from RPR Batu 6, Jalan Miri-Lutong on the latter’s own guilty plea to a charge of committing mischief, framed under Section 427 of the Penal Code. The Section provides for a jail term of not less than one year and not more than five years, or a fine, or both, upon conviction.

Sukanri committed the offence at a lot at RPR Batu 6, Jalan PujutLutong at 11am on Aug 2, 2021.

Insp Mudzilawati Abdul Rahman prosecuted the case, while the accused was unrepresented.
