Jelajah Ramadan Miri FM highlights RTM’s commitment to CSR

The three-day ‘Jelajah Ramadan Miri FM’ signifies Radio Televisyen Malaysia (RTM)’s commitment to its corporate social responsibility (CSR) pledge of helping the needy folks through charity programmes.

This year marked the 13th series of the annual Ramadan roadshow, and it kicked off at Masjid Darul Istiqamah in Kampung Luak here on Sunday.

Deputy Minister of Youth, Sports and Entrepreneur Development Dr Ripin Lamat officiated at the event.

In his remarks, the Lambir assemblyman expressed his hope for the programme to be expanded further.

the needy folks.

“We, in the government, really need such programme that can help the public,” he said, while thanking Petronas petrol station operators here, KM Mobil Sdn Bhd and Serantau Muslim for helping the organiser in making the programme a success.

For the first stop for ‘Jelajah Ramadan Miri FM’ at Masjid Darul Istiqamah, the organising team held the presentation of ‘duit raya’ (Raya cash packets) to 56 children from Pujut 8B Royal Garden Orphanage, and also distribution of food and daily essentials to 40 needy villagers from Kampung Luak and

Kampung Lusut.

Later on, Ripin announced allocations of RM10,000 grant for RTM Miri to run its community activities, and another RM10,000 for the mosque to run its Ramadan programmes.

Also present were RTM Miri station manager Lydia Paya Rinyud and Jelajah Ramadan Miri FM 2023 programme producer Joraini Tamin.

The second leg of the roadshow was at Surau Hidayatullah in Kampung Lereng Bukit yesterday, while the last destination would be at Surau Darul Hidayah, Kampung Bulau in Sibuti this April 1.
