Kedah shoe boutique selling ‘ Rahmah’ Raya shoes

A Kedah shoe boutique owner has decided to chip in and take the opportunity to help the needy by offering ‘Rahmah’ Raya shoes and she is selling them for as low as RM20 a pair.

Haslina Wani Abdul Hamid, 40, who owns Butik Wanniz Shoppe here and in Alor Setar, said the initiative to sell her shoes at a low price is to help her customers to make the choice of buying quality shoes at affordable prices for the coming Aidilfitri.

“We don’t want to put a high price on our shoes because we want our customers to look stylish without having to spend a lot of money which is also in line with the government’s suggestion (about Rahmah prices),” she said when met by reporters at her boutique here.

Haslina Wani said the needy are close to her heart because she was once at the lowest point in her life when her clothing business suffered badly between 2008 and 2009.

It was so bad that she had only 20 sen le in her pocket but she rebounded and business is good again.

She said she still made a profit selling her shoes at low prices but the profit was not as high as selling her shoes at regular prices.

“Our shoes are durable (quality) despite selling them cheap. It is not an issue if we sold cheap shoes that are not quality but the shoes that we sell are (distinctively) quality products. I have repeat buyers, the shoes are also durable,” she said.
