Mukah Polytechnic students, lecturers carry out CSR activity at Rumah Ibi

The Department of Mechanical Engineering, Mukah Polytechnic (PMU) recently carried out its corporate social responsibility (CSR) programme at Rumah Ibi, Batu Labang, Song.

A total of 33 students including lecturers were involved in the CSR programme called ‘Bersama Komuniti Rumah Ibi, Batu Labang, Song’.

In the programme, the participants installed solar lights and improved the infrastructure in the longhouse.

The four-day programme was led by Mohamad Amirul Md Ali as programme director.

According to Mohamad Amirul, the objective of the CSR programme was to promote PMU to the community in the Song area. At the same time, he said through the activity, they hoped to give better exposure and opportunity to the staff to provide service and do charity work for the community.

He added that this programme was also one of the initiatives of PMU to give exposure and encouragement to the staff to be active in social and welfare activities.

“This programme is held to create a community that has greater cooperation and goodwill among members of the Mechanical Engineering Department, especially with the local community,” he said.

Also participating in the programme was Department of Mechanical Engineering head Mohd Ghafran Mohamed.
