JCI Sibu hosts JCI Cebu in 3-day visit

Junior Chamber International (JCI) Sibu played host to Junior Chamber International Cebu from the Philippines during the la er’s three-day visit here recently.

JCI Cebu’s four-team delegation, led by President Marc Peterson Ng, was here to foster ties and international friendship through the exchange of ideas and expertise.

While here, they visited University Technology

Sarawak (UTS) to gain be er understanding and insights of the higher education and community development in Sibu.

The delegates also called on Bukit Assek assemblyman Joseph Chieng at the la er’s office whereby they were briefed on Sarawak’s local culture and customs. A design-thinking workshop co-organised by Methodist Pilley Institute (MPI and Esperance Club and Tour was also conducted, where it had enabled both JCI Sibu and JCI Cebu to engage in meaningful discussions while sharing their experiences and ideas.

In expressing their gratitude towards JCI Sibu for their warm hospitality, JCI Cebu remarked that the visit has deepened their understanding and appreciation of the community service and local culture.

Meanwhile, JCI Sibu welcomed local youths between the ages of 18 and 40 to join the club for personal growth and to serve in community service. Those interested can contact JCI Sibu president Samuel Ngu (0192608775) or vice president Elden Lau (016-8700822).
