LUMPUR: Yinson GreenTech (YGT) and Singaporelisted LHN Group, through its subsidiary LHN EVCO Pte. Ltd (LHNEV), have signed a joint venture (JV) to bring chargEV fast charging hubs and services to Singapore, facilitating easy and accessible cross-border charging between the two countries.

The signing ceremony held yesterday also celebrated the launch of chargEV’s first charging stations in Singapore, located at 38 Ang Mo Kio Industrial Park.

Gracing the JV signing ceremony and launch was Singapore’s Minister of State for the Ministry of Trade and Industry and Ministry of Culture, Community and Youth, Low Yen Ling. The event marks a significant milestone in the integration of electric vehicle (EV) charging infrastructure across borders, empowering EV users to roam freely and seamlessly.

Through the partnership, both parties will jointly contribute to the development of Singapore’s public electric vehicle charging system infrastructure by exploring new locations for the installation of chargEV stations.

Under the agreement, YGT will handle the commercialisation, procurement, operation and development of the EV charging infrastructure while LHNEV will handle the installation and maintenance of the EV charging system, as well as provide customer assistance.

As the majority shareholder and operator of chargEV – Malaysia’s largest EV charging network and charge point operator – YGT will leverage on its in-house capabilities to oversee the back-end support system and integrated mobile app.

The chargEV app will give users access to chargEV hubs in Singapore as well as an extensive network of 300 charging points in Malaysia with just one-step payment activation. Other app features include real-time tracking of charging status, charging station locations, analytics and rewards.

LHNEV, a subsidiary of LHN Energy – which itself is a subsidiary of the larger LHN Group, specialises in the integration of space optimisation and sustainable energy solutions such as solar panels and EV chargers.

The group, which manages over 70 carparks in Singapore, will focus on developing and managing the newly added high-speed charging stations at its carparks and explore the expansion of these stations to more suitable locations across its carpark network. With their extensive expertise in renewable energy, the LHN Group will also provide the necessary manpower for the operation and maintenance of these charging hubs.

“Users in Malaysia can also access the newly deployed chargers in Singapore starting with Ang Mo Kio from today, with more locations across Singapore to be opened up during the year. Locations that are earmarked for this expansion include Kallang Bahru, Bukit Timah Shopping Centre, Mount Elizabeth Link and 43 Keppel Road.
