MIRI: A couple had a night to forget after their one-year-old daughter became trapped inside a locked car in front of a shopping centre in Tudan here Wednesday.

The Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) in a statement said they received a distress call on the incident at 8.55pm and immediately dispatched a team of five from the Lutong fire station to the scene.

“Upon arrival at 9.06pm, the team found that there was a one-year-old baby girl inside a Proton Saga. Using special tools, the team immediately worked to open the car’s door,” it said.

Bomba said the operation took about two minutes, with the baby then returned safely to her parents.

The operation ended at 9.10pm.
