Two-hour agony for toddler who gets foot stuck in pipe
An Indonesian toddler had to endure pain for almost two hours before firefighters released his right foot that was stuck in a drain pipe, in an incident at a house in Tanjung Manis on Sunday.
Acting Tanjung Manis Fire and Rescue (Bomba) station chief Awang Busrah said the operations room received an emergency call at 8.13am.
“Immediately after that, four firefighters were despatched to the location.
“There, they were taken to the bathroom of the house, where they saw a toddler, about a year old, with his right foot stuck in the drain pipe.
“After assessing the situation, the firefighters decided to use a special equipment called the ‘Paratex’ to break a section of the floor and the pipe.
“The operation ended successfully at 9.55am,” said
Awang in a statement yesterday.
He said after releasing the foot, the firefighters handed the toddler back to his family.
“After making sure that everything was safe, the firefighters returned to the station,” said Awang.
