SIBU: Betong emerged overall champion at the recent PSKPP Archery Championships held at SMK Lanang here.

In second placing was Bintulu followed by Samarahan.

The tournament, organized by Sibu Education Department, attracted 10 teams.

The other seven teams are Kuching, Limbang, Mukah, Sarikei, Serian, Sri Aman and host Sibu.

They competed in eight categories comprising individual recurve men and women, recurve men team, recurve mixed team, individual traditional men and woman, traditional men team and traditional mixed team.

Bintulu’s Fikrizulhizam Amat took the individual traditional men’s title followed by Muhammad Amirul Izwan Husen from Sibu and Adi Spaiee from Betong.

Muhd Iqbal Nazaruddin from Samarahan topped the men’s individual recurve. Teammate Wan Salman Wabn and Kuching’s Awang Sami Matali finished second and third.

SMK Lanang principal Kho Say Wei gave away the prizes.
