Tupong, Samariang, Satok in threecornered fight for P194 golf title

One hundred and twenty golfers representing three teams – Tupong, Samariang and Satok – will vie for the Dato Sri Fadillah Yusof Challenge Trophy in the P194 Golf Challenge Tournament at Kelab Golf Sarawak (KGS) in Petra Jaya this Sunday.

The tournament is consist of team event, individual, invited guest and a special invitational Ladies category as well as the Junior category.

“We are embarking on the 13th anniversary of the P194 Petra Jaya Golf Challenge Tournament since the competition could not be organised in 2020 and 2021 due to Covid-19 pandemic,” organising chairman Fazzrudin Abdul Rahman told a press conference at KGS yesterday.

The Tupong assemblyman added the total prize money for the competition is RM20,000.

“Each team comprises 40 players and team event is divided into three categories according to their handicaps,” said Fazzrudin.

The team captains are Talha Affendie (Tupong), Sarbarudin Mohamad (Samariang) and Sukman Said (Satok).

Deputy Prime Minister Dato Sri Fadillah Yusof, who is also Plantation & Commodities Minister and Petra Jaya MP, will grace the closing and prize presentation ceremony on Sunday.
